FOR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY
SUPSI, 10-14 SEPTEMBER 2012
DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION: 3 AUGUST 2012
10 – 14 September
Overview
Interaction Design for Physical Activity is the subject of the Summer School organized by SUPSI (LCV) in conjunction with Technogym – the leading global developer of fitness equipments and wellness solutions.
The topic of this year’s summer school is Fitness in Play Spaces – dynamics and future scenarios developments. On the one hand, cutting-edge technologies, wireless sensors, wearable devices, and quantified self movement provide powerful insights for engaging people in fitness experiences. On the other hand, one of the greatest things about sport is have fun and be powerful. In this multilayered area, fun and play are also vital parts of interaction design. We need new areas of expertise and a broader set of design skills that encompass the ongoing dialogue about person’s lifestyle, sense of community, physical activities sharing and self motivation. This Summer School aims to move this unexplored design area from a centrality of the physical exercise into wellness territories mapped by playful spaces and practices.
