Bio

Maurizio Gnot started in 1984 as Visual designer for the corporate identity (Olivetti). He also worked, for private and public sector, on audio-visual communication, road sign systems and editorial conceptions for technical and coordinated-image handbook. In 1995 became an Information Architect and User Interface designer, thank to the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission (DG JRC). He has worked at JRC for five years designing a framework to coordinate the publishing of 70 Web sites; he developed methodologies necessary to face the unknown design issues concerning the Web. He also collaborated to the creation of a Content Management System (CMS), one of the first in the history of the Web (1998). Since 2000 he has been collaborating with the International Labour Organization (ILO, UN agency based at Geneva) for harmonizing the web communication (200 web sites). He designs new rules and policies for the standardization of content, navigation and user interface, defining also methodologies and tools to apply the new standards using a CMS as implementation technology. Lecturer at Politecnico di Milano, Industrial Design faculty (1998-2003): coordinated image and Web design.
